JACOBS HALL LOCKERS

These lockers were designed to give students a safe place to store their projects in Jacobs Hall between classes. A single sheet of 1/2” plywood creates two lockers on our Shopbot PRSAlpha 96-48, and a custom decorative swoosh, generated in Rhino/Grasshopper, was carved on the locker doors to give them a collective appeal when arranged in towers.

Besides the lockers themselves, we also designed the number plates and custom hardware for lock mounting, cutting it those out as well on our Fablight laser cutter.

A decorative “swoosh” was generated in Rhino/Grasshopper, and this design allowed for 48 more lockers if demand required.

Early renderings gave staff an idea of how the lockers might fit into the space. The Fusion 360 file was parametric, so even small changes to the interior dimensions could be made to adjust overall fit and feel after patterning the design.
